Welcome to Bahi Khata (“the App”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal and financial data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, process, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and associated services.

This policy complies with global data privacy regulations, including:

2. 100% OFFLINE LOCAL DATA STORAGE (NO CLOUD SYNC)

Bahi Khata is a 100% offline-first accounting and digital ledger application.

  • Local Storage Only: All your financial ledgers, customer records, transaction details, dates, baseline opening balances, payment reminder notes, and attached bill/receipt photos are stored exclusively on your mobile device inside a secure local SQLite database.
  • NO Cloud Data Upload / Sync: We do NOT transmit, upload, host, sync, or store your transaction entries, party details, or ledger books on any cloud server, Firebase Storage, or external database.
  • Local File Backups: Backup copies of your data are generated locally on your phone as downloadable files. You retain total control over your backup files.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • User Authentication Data: When you sign in via Google Sign-In, we receive basic authentication details from Google (Full Name, Email Address, Profile Picture URL, and Google User ID) strictly to verify your account identity.
  • Local Profile Data: Business Name, Owner Name, Mobile Number, Business Address, and preferred Currency Symbol entered in the app are saved locally on your device.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & System Identifiers: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (Android ID, GAID / Google Advertising ID), system language, and network status.
  • App Analytics & Crash Logs: Application launches, feature counters, stack traces, and execution logs used internally to fix bugs and improve performance.

3.3 Third-Party Advertising Data

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): AdMob collects advertising IDs (GAID), IP address, and coarse location to serve non-intrusive advertisements and prevent click fraud.

4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  1. User Identity Verification: To authenticate your account via Google Sign-In.
  2. Local Bookkeeping Functionality: To calculate debit/credit totals, manage baseline financial year opening balances, and export PDF reports directly on your device.
  3. Local Reminders: To trigger local payment due alerts on your mobile device.
  4. Ad Serving: To display banner, interstitial, and app open ads via Google AdMob.
  5. App Maintenance: To diagnose technical crashes and optimize app stability.

6. YOUR GLOBAL DATA PRIVACY RIGHTS

6.1 GDPR (European Union & UK)

  • Right of Access & Portability: You can export 100% of your financial data anytime via local PDF/CSV/Backup file export.
  • Right to Erasure / Account Deletion: You can request full account deletion directly within the Application (Settings ➔ Account ➔ Delete Account).
  • Right to Rectification: Edit or update any profile or transaction record directly inside the app.

6.2 CCPA / CPRA (California, USA)

  • Right to Know & Delete: Access and request deletion of personal information. We do NOT sell your personal information.

6.3 DPDP Act (India)

  • Full right to access, correct, and request deletion of personal authentication data.

7. DATA RETENTION & ACCOUNT DELETION

  • Local Financial Data: Stored on your device until you manually clear application data, uninstall the App, or delete specific entries.
  • Account Deletion Process: Initiating account deletion in Settings ➔ Account ➔ Delete Account starts an automated 7-day waiting period. You can cancel the deletion within 7 days. After 7 days, your account profile and authentication credentials are permanently deleted from Firebase.

8. DATA SECURITY

  • Isolated Storage: Local SQLite database files are sandboxed within Android internal app storage (/data/user/0/com.khata.manager/databases/), accessible only by the Bahi Khata app.
  • OAuth 2.0 Security: Sign-in is handled securely via official Google Play Services SDKs. We never store or see your Google account password.

9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Bahi Khata is intended for adults and business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact help@studio4by9.com for immediate deletion.

10. PERMISSIONS REQUIRED

  • INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for Google Sign-In authentication and AdMob ad delivery.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Optional permission on Android 13+ to deliver payment due reminders locally.
  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / STORAGE: Optional permission to attach receipt/voucher images to transaction records.

11. FINANCIAL DISCLAIMER

Bahi Khata is a digital record-keeping tool. The App does NOT handle real money transfers, banking operations, loans, or payment processing. All transaction entries are user-entered accounting records for personal tracking.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be published with a revised “Last Updated” date.
